About

Hugo & Ellie began quietly, during my second pregnancy, as a way to sit with uncertainty and channel it into something tangible. Knitting became both a comfort and a puzzle — a place where structure, rhythm and creativity could coexist. Before long, the mathematical side of garment construction pulled me in just as much as the yarn.
My background is in design and environmental protection, and those influences shape everything I make. I’m interested in slow fashion not as a trend, but as a mindset: fewer pieces, thoughtfully designed, well made, and cared for over time. Knitting gives us the rare opportunity to be part of that process ourselves.
Through Hugo & Ellie, I translate my experience in digital design into knitting patterns that are clear, considered and a pleasure to use. I care deeply about how instructions are written, how information is structured, and how confident a knitter feels as they move through a pattern.
Each design is developed carefully, tested thoroughly, and refined until it feels right. I aim for patterns that are reliable, adaptable, and respectful of the knitter’s time and skill.
If you ever spot an error, have a suggestion, or want to share how a pattern worked for you, I genuinely appreciate hearing about it. Email is always the best way to reach me: info.hugoandellie@gmail.com. I may not be very active on every platform, but I do read and reply.
